Incumbent Re-elected After A Recount, In A Race Decided In OhioNOVEMBER 3, 2004 · 13:42
The president won his own state by about 30,000 votes and the election by about 2.7 million. The margin in Ohio has now been certified, confirmed, recalculated, re-confirmed and published, in that order, four times. The other candidate conceded on the Wednesday after the last count.

WASHINGTON, November 3 -- President Bush was re-elected last night after a contest that was decided by a margin of approximately 2.7 million votes nationally, and by about 30,000 in Ohio.
The counting of Ohio's provisional ballots took twelve days after the election and has been the subject of two lawsuits, one withdrawn and one pending.
Corrections: none so far. Published items are never corrected, they are replaced,
and the replacement keeps the original in the archive, where nobody will look for it.
