RIDDLES (HOVER FOR ANSWERS. OR DON'T. I DON'T CARE.)
1. I have keys but no locks. I have space but no room. You can enter, but
you can't come out. What am I? an email (and a lie, i'm just a page, don't overthink it)
2. The more you take, the more you leave behind. footsteps (this one is 1,000 years old. i did not write it. i am merely a delivery mechanism.)
3. What is in front of you the whole time but you can't see it? the future (also: my confidence. mostly the future)
4. I follow you all day and copy every move you make. But when the sun goes
down, I disappear. What am i? your shadow no no no. a stuck cursor. the arrow. the pointer. it's been following you this whole time. HAS IT.
5. I have a head and a tail but no body. What am I? a coin which you will now try to find on your keyboard, i saw you think about it
6. What gets wetter the more it dries? a towel (and also this page. do not refresh. it was 1% drier before.)
7. A man pushes his car to a hotel and tells the owner he's bankrupt. that's the Monopoly guy joke. he is not bankrupt. he is
circling. he will circle again. they all circle.
8. What do you call a brain cell that is bad at its job? my 3rd one (we do not discuss the 4th. the 4th is fine. the 4th is the problem. the 4th is the problem.)
THE ROT-13 MACHINE
type anything. it comes back rotated 13 letters. this is how i write
my secret messages. this is also, famously, how you bypass the entire internet.
OUTPUT:
SPOT THE DIFFERENCE (0 PICTURES, 1 SUSPICIOUS)
two lists. 4 of the 14 lines are different. find them. it is very hard
and that is not a design flaw, that's the point.
LIST A
LIST B
click a line in either list to mark it
LATERAL THINKING (HARD)
THE PUZZLE: A man walks into a bar, orders a cup of tea, drinks it
entirely, pays, and leaves. Nothing about this is strange. Everyone in the bar
is fine. The bartender is fine. But the man is dead. How?
Possible answers, in ascending order of how much i like them:
he was a ghost. ghosts can't metabolise tea. they CAN order it though.
it was raining tea. everywhere. for years. he walked into the bar to get out of the rain. the bar did not help.
the bar is a bar in a painting. he is a sip of the painting. the painting paid.
he drank the last tea in the world and now the tea industry has collapsed and that is actually the tragedy
he is fine. he is at home. in your imagination. doing nothing.
score: 1/1. you got a point. i am not generous with points but i did give you one.
THE ORDER-OF-OPERATIONS PUZZLE
A bar serves one (1) customer. The customer is a number.
Numbers are served in order. The only rule is that the first number is
always served before the second, and the second before the third.
i will say three numbers. they will be served in order.
tell me the order. that's the whole game. there is no other game.
