A Search Engine Is Being Sued By The People It FoundMAY 12, 2004 · 18:53
A group of doctors has sued a search engine for displaying their names next to a website they say is fraudulent, and the search engine has responded by offering to display the judgement. Both sides have said the case is about something else. It is not about something else.

CHICAGO, May 12 -- A group of physicians have filed suit against the world's largest search engine, arguing that its results page displayed their names beside a website selling prescription medication without a licence, causing their patients to be harmed.
The company said in a statement that it "provides links to information and is not responsible for the content of the sites to which it links", a defence which has been adopted by roughly every company in the industry.
