Police Raid Offices Of Danish Company In AmsterdamJULY 14, 2001 · 14:13
Officers entered the headquarters of what police describe as Europe's largest website, which hosts free and unauthorised copies of music, and left with servers, cash and a documentary evidence. The company says it will fight. Its legal battles are the reason it exists.

AMSTERDAM, July 14 -- Dutch police raided the offices of a website company this morning, confiscating servers and cash in the latest and largest escalation of the dispute over whether sharing copyrighted music over the internet is theft or is a habit.
The company, whose offices contain approximately one million CDs according to a visitor's count conducted last month, said in a statement that the raid was "an attack on the information society" and that it would continue to operate from a European country that does not yet have such an opinion.
