Teacher And Two Students Killed At School In KentuckyAPRIL 20, 2000 · 10:21
A 15-year-old opened fire in a middle school classroom in West Paducah, killing a teacher and two of his classmates before dying. The town's population is 53,000. It has never had a murder that made the national news in living memory, and it will not be the last time this sentence is written.
THE SCHOOL. EVERYBODY IN THIS TOWN WILL KNOW THAT BUILDING FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES.

THE SCHOOL. EVERYBODY IN THIS TOWN WILL KNOW THAT BUILDING FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES.
WEST PADUCAH, Kentucky, April 20 -- A 15-year-old student killed a teacher and two classmates before taking his own life in a middle school here, in the state's westernmost county, authorities said.
It is the third school shooting in eleven months in the United States. Each time, the pictures of the children were shown on television before the names were known, and each time the discussion that followed lasted about nine days.
The superintendent released the names of the dead at four in the afternoon. A candlelight vigil was held at the school gym that evening. The football team, which had practised in the car park that afternoon, cancelled its game the following week.

House rules, posted since the beginning and enforced by one person:
be the kind of commenter who would be tolerable in person. do not correct people's grammar
unless it is fun. no fonts larger than 11 pixels. this is not a newspaper. it is a
website.
