PRISTINA, June 6 -- NATO's peacekeeping mission in Kosovo ended this morning, exactly 51 years and 40 days after it began, and was replaced by a United Nations mission staffed by national police officers from 39 countries.

Corrections: none so far. Published items are never corrected, they are replaced,
and the replacement keeps the original in the archive, where nobody will look for it.
