MOUNTAIN VIEW, August 19 -- Google, a company founded in a garage in 1998 and incorporated in 2001, became publicly traded this morning at a valuation of more than $23 billion.
The offering was priced at $85, raised $1.67 billion, and traded up 100 per cent by the close. It is the largest initial public offering in the history of the internet and the fourth largest in American history.
